Fan Website Attempts to Write About Every Hussalonia Song
02.21.10
Inspired by Anthony Ling's Every Bob Dylan Song website, writer and Hussalonianite Leonard Kirke has started a blog wherein he is attempting to write about each and every Hussalonia song, seemingly in chronological order. This, as one could imagine, is a major undertaking of little reward. Let it be known that Mr. Kirke is in no way affiliated with Hussalonia, nor will he receive any compensation for his work. He writes from his own desire to write and to benevolently spread the Hussalonia word. The Hussalonia Internet Concourse applauds Mr. Kirke's commendable efforts to raise Hussalonia awareness by giving each Hussalonia song a moment in the World Wide Web. We have found his initial installments to be insightful, honest, confessional, and enchantingly tangental. Everything one could hope for in a blog about Hussalonia. New LP: The Somewhat Surprising Return of the Hussalonia Robot Singers
01.10.09
Hussalonia's first release of 2009 is in some ways a nod to its past. You see, way back in 2003 (when dinosaurs roamed the earth), Hussalonia released a compact disc called The Hussalonia Robot Singers. This disc is now out of print, though still available from some digital music retailers. Some people hated the disc while others loved it. So why would Hussalonia founder Jesse Mank return to such an esoteric and somewhat unpopular project? Good question. We tried to ask Mank, but he was too busy working on a musical – written entirely in Esperanto – about the Edsel to respond. Say Goodbye To The Old Internet Concourse, Stumble Through The New
08.21.08
Hussalonia’s first website appeared in 2003. It was an embarrassingly simple site, difficult to navigate, and completely uninformative. In 2006, the site was reconfigured to be better looking, but somehow even less informative. Then in 2007, owing to changes in the Hussalonia administrative offices, the site was deluged with so much information that visitors often wrote us complaining of eyestrain and carpel tunnel while perusing our Internet concourse. It was the still-pending lawsuit of Vanderbilt v. Hussalonia that finally settled it: we must redesign the concourse to be brighter, informative, aesthetically pleasing, and user friendly.
Each album now has its own page, allowing us to provide more information, as well as more download options in the future. (We are considering making high quality files such as WAV/AIFF or FLAC available for all future releases. Your feedback on this issue is welcome!) The discography now appears along side each and every music page, making navigation a cinch.
But perhaps the most amazing addition to the new site is the ability for you, the Hussalonia listener, to write reviews or leave recommended tracks for each and every album on this site! Simply scroll down to the bottom of any album (or single) to the "reviews" section. There you will see a form that allows you to write your own review. After you click submit, our staff will screen your review for slanderous attacks and shameless spam. If approved, your review will appear on this site (in part or full at our discretion) for all to read! Wow. This is the future. (Please allow a minimum of 24 hours for your review or recommendations to appear.)
New EP: OMG LOL WTF
08.08.08
Pronounced Oh Em Gee, El Oh El, Double You Tee Eff, Hussalonia's latest release is an album of experimental instrumentals. Much of the source material comes from recordable acetates made in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Wilcox-Gay made the first consumer-level recordable records during this period. The things people recorded on these records vary widely: conversations, letters, musical performances, radio-plays, and recordings of radio broadcasts. Hussalonia founder Jesse Mank collects these records when he comes across them at antique fairs, second-hand shops, and yard sales. This project was an opportunity to use some of these interesting, one-of-a-kind recordings. Due to the found nature of these recordings, Hussalonia is releasing this album directly into the public domain. You are free to sample, distribute, manipulate, and improve this album however you see fit. Download it for free by clicking here.

During a merciless week of spring cleaning, our staff uncovered a box of receipts for one thousand cherry-dipped cones at Dairy Queen, forty-two orphaned remote controls, two broken slide whistles, and these six songs. Download them all for free at the Music section of our site.
